Maybe going overboard painting every brick, but it's fun :)

Westboro Watercolours
A project I've been working on. I love the houses in this area of Westboro: old, rich, British style buildings. My favorites are the Tudor houses, with their dark beams. I wanted to paint them anyway, but a couple of the owners have bought my originals, so it seems I can make a little side-business out of it too :) Here is one that I sold yesterday. The owner is a man who has been an art dealer for 50 years. He had frames sitting around his livingroom, and various famous paintings by Michelangelo, etc, on his walls. It's so much fun to have an excuse to see the insides of these houses and meet the people who live in them.

On the Incarnation
Made flesh, like a true word penned
Whose deep black ink sinks into every
fibre,
Permeating substance, offering to lend
Itself, its own high meaning to the page
That, open-faced, awaits the scribe.

That land between essays and paychecks . . .
Lazy Tuesday morning. Wake up an hour and a half after I planned mmmm. Eat chocolate cake for breakfast!
Isn't it sweet to be a graduate whose job hasn't started yet? :)

February
The warm curve of a teapot, the embrace of a crackling hearth, splashes of peach and gold on pure-faced paper. White winter can be a backdrop for indoor glory.
